The purpose of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is to prevent, detect, and investigate cases of economic and intellectual property related crimes to ensure prompt justice and desired relief to the victims.

Economic Offences Wing deals with important cases concerning multi-level frauds, share market frauds, offences of forgery, cheating by individuals and non-banking financial companies, offences related to intellectual property rights, and such other cases. आर्थिक गुन्हे शाखा (EOW) चे उद्दिष्ट आर्थिक व बौद्धिक संपत्तीशी संबंधित गुन्ह्यांचे प्रतिबंध, शोध व तपास करणे हे आहे, जेणेकरून पीडितांना तात्काळ न्याय व आवश्यक दिलासा मिळू शकेल.

आर्थिक गुन्हे शाखा बहुस्तरीय फसवणूक, शेअर बाजार फसवणूक, बनावट दस्तऐवज तयार करणे, व्यक्ती किंवा बिगर बँकिंग वित्तीय कंपन्यांकडून फसवणूक, बौद्धिक संपदा हक्कांशी संबंधित गुन्हे आणि अशा इतर महत्त्वाच्या प्रकरणांचा तपास करते.
